Recently, the world celebrated the International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the social, political and economic achievements of women while focusing the world’s attention on areas requiring further action.

Several activities and events were held in most countries of the world to drive home the theme of this year’s celebration, which is ‘Inspiring Change’. Organisations, governments, NGOs, educational institutions, women's groups, corporations and the media celebrated the day with different programmes in order to encourage advocacy for women's advancement everywhere and in every way.

This year’s celebration puts women under an unprecedented challenge of Inspiring change in the world, each tasked to be an agent of change in their family, community, workplace, state and even country; wherever they find themselves. Every woman therefore is expected to inspire positive change in other women, change in their male counterparts, environment and even in prevailing circumstances.

Women obviously have what it takes to influence or engender any of these categories or levels of change. The question is how ready are our mothers, wives and sisters to take up this herculean task?

For our women to be able to inspire change, they must understand that their reputation, character, attitude and lifestyle are some of the factors that will more than anything else inspire change in people. Achieving this task leaves women no other choice than to be at her best state of health. A woman that must inspire positive change in the society must be a healthy woman.  

Women health is one critical area that deserves every attention the world can give it, because of the care-giving role women play in our society. A lot depend on the wellbeing of our women if the society must move forward in every aspect. A healthy woman they say, represent a healthy family or healthy society. Therefore to have a healthy society, our women must be healthy and fit at all times.

Today we focus on healthy lifestyle in women, as a catalyst for inspiring change.
