DESCRIPTION: Baby tribotan is a multi-ingredient preparation containing Clotrimazole a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent, Ichthamol and Boric acid, which are indicated in a wide range of skin infections.

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY: Tribotan is useful for the treatment of skin infection caused by various species of pathogenic dermatophytes, yeast and other isolates. Clotrimazole exhibits fungistatic and fungicidal activity against isolates of Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccusum and Candida spp. including Candida albicans. Strains having resistance to clotrimazole are rare. Boric acid is an anti-infective agent that inhibits the growth of microorganisms. Ichthammol exhibits bactriostatic activity and is useful in the treatment of varieties of skin disorders.

INDICATION: Baby Tribotan®, a multi-ingredient topical preparation carefully manufactured for babies and indicated in the treatment of:

• Nappy Rash and other skin rashes
• All dermatomycosis due to fungal species such as yeast (Candida spp), Trichophyton spp, mould and other fungi
• Pruritis and Urticaria of the skin
• Eczema and Slight excoriation
• Other skin disorders.

CONTRAINDICATION: Baby Tribotan®, is contraindicated in babies who show hypersensitivity to any of the constituents.

WARNING:

• Even when symptoms have improved, do not discontinue the use of the medication before full duration of treatment.
• Baby Tribotan is not for ophthalmic use.

PRECAUTION:

• It should be discontinued if irritation occurs
• Avoid sources of infection or re-infection

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Gently massage sufficient Baby Tribotan® into the affected and surrounding skin areas twice a day (morning and evening). Clinical improvement with relief usually occurs within the first week of treatment. If the patient shows no clinical improvement after four weeks, the diagnosis should be reviewed by a physician.

ADVERSE REACTIONS: Erythema, Stinging, Blistering, peeling, edema and general irritation of the skin.

HOW SUPPLIED:  Baby Tribotan® is supplied as 20g in tube.
