Each 5ml contains: 

Magaldrate USP ………..540mg  

Simethicone USP .………..100mg 

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY: Gascol is an antacid and anti-flatulent. It is a combination of Magaldrate and Simethicone.  The antacid works by neutralizing stomach acid and increasing the pH of the stomach. The antiflatulent works by  breaking up gas bubbles, which makes gas easier to eliminate. 

INDICATIONS : Gascol is indicated to relieve dyspepsia, heartburn, hyperacidity, acid indigestion, gastric and duodenal  ulcer, gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux. It is also indicated for the relief of flatulence, abdominal distention and windy  colic. 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: 1-2 teaspoonful (5-10ml) to be taken between meals and at bed time or as directed  by the medical practitioner. It can be taken with or without food. 

SIDE EFFECTS: Constipation, Diarrhea & Intestinal pain.  

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Gascol is contra-indicated in patients that are:  

– Hypersensitive to any of its ingredient.  

– With Kidney problems  

– With intestinal obstruction, appendictis & chronic diarrhea  

WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS: Caution should be exercised in patients with history of appendicitis, stomach pain, nausea,  vomiting, diarrhea, blockage of the bowel, rectal bleeding of unknown cause, kidney problems, or have undergone  recent bowel surgery, on a low-magnesium diet, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and  breastfeeding. Avoid excess dosage. 

Use in pregnancy & lactation: Gascol can be used in pregnancy only when necessary . Chronic high dose should be  avoided. 

SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSE & ANTIDOTE: Large doses can cause obstruction. Do not use maximum dose of this product  for more than two weeks, except under the advice and supervision of a physician. 

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Do not take with tetracycline antibiotics. Antacids can interefere with the absorption of iron  preparations. 

STORAGE:

Keep in a cool & dry place, store below 30ᵒC . Protect from direct sunlight.
