Fidson HealthCare Plc achieved another great feat at the just concluded Great Place to Work award ceremony held in Lagos. It was a night of celebration as the company bagged five nominations, two awards and a certification.
The company was certified a Great Place to Work in the Gold category, a confirmation that the company met the certification threshold of 70% average Trust Index score. This shows that culture and operations of the organization are in line with global best practices.
Fidson won the Best Practice Award for Best Quality of Life in the Large Corporate organization category- a recognition of the company’s workplace culture and processes as well as the Human Resource and Administration Department’s delivery of programs that foster employee well-being.
The icing on the very tasty cake was the emergence of Fidson as a top-3 Best Workplace in the ‘Best Workplace Index Ranking’ among large corporate organizations. This award category was a test of might between first-place winners, Sterling Bank, runner up – Price Water Coopers, Fidson Healthcare Plc, Television Continental – fourth place winners, and First Bank Limited in fifth place.
The highlight of the event was the exotic boat cruise on the Hi-Impact Yacht that took off from the Marina waterfront into the coastal corridors of Lagos. The event was fun filled as participants were thrilled with soulful music from the live band.
According to the Head, Human Resource and Administration, Mrs Adejoke Alli,
It was our first time as a company to participate and what an entry we made! Nominated as one of the top 3, for 5 out of 8 categories for Large Corporate Organizations including Best Quality of Life, Best Learning & Development, Inspiring People Practices, Fun in the Workplace, and Support for Women; We bagged two awards- Best Quality of Life, became officially certified as Great Place to Work and won 3rd Place Overall Best Workplace in Nigeria for the year 2020.
She further stressed that,
“For a wholly indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturing company, competing with real juggernauts, we did great!!! We know there is still room for improvement so watch out guys we are going for Gold next time.”
The awards are testament to the company’s slogan “… We Value Life”.
